Training objectives

Students will develop practical coaching knowledge and skills for the beginner coach ("Tecnico di base" - Beginner Canoe Coach)

Prerequisites

Students who apply for this programme shouldn't fear water and have to know how to stay afloat

Course programme

Students will achieve a solid grounding in the basic skills and knowledge of canoeing.
Information will be provided on the Italian Association of Canoe and Kayak (FICK – Federazione Italiana Caona e Kayak); different types of canoeing; the basics of safety.
Students will be involved in practical canoeing lessons and theyl'' develop the expertise to further and gradually improve the skills of beginners.
Students interested in getting the FICK qualification of "tecnico di base" will be required an additional online training

Learning assessment procedures

Evaluation of the practical part (2/3 of the vote) + Quiz theoretical part (1/3 of the vote)
The practice exam will involve the execution of some basics of canoeing. The evaluation ranges from 0 to 4 where 0 means that the student doesn’t even know the theory of the technique while 4 stands for a good and effective execution of the basics.
The theory exam consists in 40 questions with double choice: true or false.
Time for complete the questions it’s 2 hours
The questions are about the concepts taught during the course.
