Training objectives
- To learn mechanism of adaptations to acute and chronic exercise of the main component of exercise capacity. To know aspects og general methodology related to the characteristic of exercise testing protocols. To know and evaluate the different components of both health-related and performance-related fitness.
Prerequisites
- To know basics of human functional anatomy, physics, applied exercise biochemistry and physiology
Course programme
- General methodological aspects: Validity, repeatability, reproducibility, specificity and importance of adherence to procedure. Exercise testing in both health-related and performance-related fitness. Cardiovascular adaptations to exercise. Respiratory adaptations to exercise. Muscular adaptations to exercise. Testing power and endurance of mechanisms of ATP resynthesis. Assessment of anaerobic threshold. Testing anthropometry and body composition. Physical activity in different and particular environmental conditions. Exercise testing in women, children and elders. Testing flexibility. Testing strength and muscular endurance.
