Training objectives
- Study and learn to use special projective varieties, Segre, Veronese, with respect to tensor algebras
Prerequisites
- Algebraic geometry I
Course programme
- Multilinear Algebra rank and border rank for tensors, simmetric tensors and antisimmetric tensors. (16 hours)
Segre and Veronese varieties, tangent spaces, tangent cone and tangent star. Secant varieties and Terracini Lemma. (32 hours) Didactic methods
- lectures and seminars, with example classes assigned and discussed at the blackboard
Learning assessment procedures
- The student chooses the argument of a talk from a list and presents it at the blackboard.
