Training objectives
- To acquire knowledge on: modalities and mechanisms of embryonic development, differentiation of germ layers, organogenesis of reproductive and neural systems, haematopoiesis.
Prerequisites
- Basic scientific knowledge about cell biology and embryology.
Course programme
- Germinal line: early determination, migration of primordial germ cells, gametogenesis and fertilization, inhibition of polyspermy.
Development of nervous system: ontogeny and differentiation of neural tube, neural crests derivatives and migratory routes: types and mechanisms, developmental potential.
Differentiation of dorsal and lateral mesoderm, haematopoiesis and development of the immune system, genesis of extraembryonic membranes, differentiation of ectoderm and endoderm.
Differential affinity of developing cells, intercellular recognition and cell interactions, programmed cell death. Didactic methods
- conventional, through theorical lessons.
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral examen, with evaluation up to 30 (and eventual laude)
